Having made their name furnishing blinds for educational establishments, among other locations, Commercial Blind Services wanted to increase awareness of their growing range of lighting solutions for schools and colleges.
Protecting staff and students from the glare of the sun is one thing. Throwing light on the educational environment is quite another. So CBS came to us to market their advanced range of lights for schools and colleges.
Our experience told us headteachers, bursars and school managers were key audiences in this market. CBS already carried a reputation for quality in its blinds and sunshades, so we sought to carry over those positive associations to the world of lighting.
To do that, we designed and produced a schools lighting catalogue that reflected the premium quality of the CBS offer:
A wide range of advanced lighting solutions. An understanding of their importance in the educational environment. And most importantly, an appreciation of how any refurbishment has to fit in with timescales dictated by the school calendar.
Crucially, we had to be certain of getting into the hands of the right people at the right time.
And that meant a fast turnaround. Fast, as in: Creating 3 design routes for consideration; taking the favoured route to first draft copy and artwork; integrating two further rounds of feedback and amends.
All in ten days. From start to finish.
Armed with a well designed, well branded brochure (previous sales collateral had been something of an ad hoc collection of manufacturers’ material) CBS Lighting now had a credible pitch to school lighting specifiers they could use to open doors.
Not to mention minds.
